Total Alkalinity is the measurement of a pool or spa's susceptibility to pH change. Alkalinity that is out of range allows for large rapid pH swings. Extreme pH changes, also called pH Bounce, throw the water out of balance causing a number of potential problems such as ineffective chlorine, metal corrosion, staining, scaling and even physical discomfort like eye and skin irritation. The recommended level for alkalinity in your swimming pool water is 80-120 ppm.
Regal Total Alkalinity Plus is Easy-To-Use. This granular product raises total alkalinity in the pool and acts as a buffer to prevent pH bounce, staining, and corrosion.

Regal Total Alkalinity Plus is Easy-To-Use. Adding 1 1⁄2 pounds of Regal Total Alkalinity Plus to 10,000 gallons of water will increase total alkalinity by 10 ppm with only a slight change in pH. Do not add more than 10 pounds per 10,000 gallons at any one time or on the same day that Hardness Plus is added. Wait 4 hours and retest. Add more if needed.
