Almost cried, then I celebrated
After watching videos and reading the instructions I really thought this pool would be impossible to put up correctly ( I live on a sloped lot). I was on the verge of buying yet another intex pool that I have bought and thrown away after every two seasons because the instructions made it seem like a NASA project instead of a pool. In desperation, my son and I took a few shortcuts and within 6 hours we had water going in it. I really like the wide ledge on top and skimmer is an awesome addition. After a month the pool is standing strong and there is no wobbling from the legs or top rails. The liner was very easy to install with no leaks. The only draw back is the return valve. It is smaller than I am used to so my auto cleaner has not been installed yet. My auto cleaner/sweeper runs off of the return and not the intake.( Instructions will tell you not to run a "gizmo" from your intake. When I've enjoyed lounging around in this nice,deep pool for a while I will revisit the return valve and see about hooking up something for my cleaner. The pool was delivered professionally and I would suggest a pair of hand trucks for the pool wall. It is Very heavy! Keep the pool wall on the hand trucks and as you unroll the wall you can roll the hand trucks to make everything easier. Long story short, my spot was not 100% level. Probably not even 90% level but my problem was with more of a :roller coaster pattern than leaning to one side. Once the water was in, everything seemed to "sink" into place. Now it sits sturdy as can be. A big spalsh from my 240lb son does not even cause the slightest movement on the top rail. An intex pool would rock and wave from side to side under these conditions. I guess if this review ever reaches anyone my points should be. Get as close as possible to level then fill it up. But some " coves" from amazon to make life easier. Pile up sand in the middle before putting in walls. Don't be afraid it will fall over-it won't. Build a short deck to make getting in and out easier. If your ground is solid,skip the concrete pads. If something goes wrong it can always be fixed. I am looking forward to many years with this pool. Should I ever drain it, I will correct the "high" spots before refilling but it undoubtedly will stand as is for many years. Two adults should be enough manpower to get this pool installed. Buy you some cheap plastic clips from a hardware store to help hold up the walls while installing, then use them to help hold up the liner while installing. This was much easier to install than the videos/instructions make it seem. Good bye to throw away Intex pools. This pool will still be here when my old ass is dead and gone.
