Use It Over a Winter Pool Cover
For traditional winterizing, place the leaf net directly on top of your winter pool cover. The mesh catches leaves, twigs, and other falling debris before they accumulate and begin decomposing on the winter cover. When enough debris collects, simply remove the leaf net, clear the leaves away, and reinstall it as needed.
This can make spring opening much easier by helping prevent piles of wet, decaying leaves from sitting on your winter cover throughout the off-season. It also helps reduce the amount of heavy organic debris that must be removed before the winter cover itself can be taken off.
Use It Over an Open Pool
The leaf net may also be used directly over an open above-ground pool when a traditional winter cover is not being used. In this setup, the mesh helps intercept leaves and larger debris before they fall into the water, making routine leaf removal faster and easier.
Important: A leaf net is not a solid pool cover and does not keep the pool water clean by itself. Rainwater, dust, pollen, fine debris, and other contaminants can still pass through the mesh. If the pool remains open, normal water care should continue, including proper filtration, circulation, chemical balance, and routine maintenance as appropriate for your pool system.
